“SAMI’S VIEW” POETIC TEXT:
2014: IONION CENTRE FOR ART AND CULTURE, KEFALONIA / ITHAKA, GREECE

The text explores mystical states of poiesis - acquired through the residency at the Ionion Centre of Arts and Culture - and how this experience locates us in understanding the image of the self in its multiple reflections.

Relating this to the Sufi Sema ritual and the journey of one’s own transformations, using the metaphor of the mirror, the silent gaze, and the ultimate dissolution of the self in relation to the universal.

This collection of phrases reflect varying shifts and states of consciousness, dissolving layers of longing, and becoming. Through the labyrinth of reflections illuminated by the visual echoes of the kaleidoscope, the position of the invisible line is recognized, dissolving states of otherness.
