7 GAZES:

7 mirrored plexi-glass laser-engraved light boxes of two 2x4’sheets (limited edition of 7)
As a development from the crystal express train project, the travel and its stops are explored as 7 transformations leading to deeper awareness, inner connectivity and eventual dissolution of the self and its images. In an investigation of silence, ethereal spaces and "the secret gaze", this work engages 7 travellers in individual 2hr koan sessions - a buddhist technique of reflection that unveils mysteries of silence.
The findings were used to construct 7 light boxes of 2 different reflective surfaces laser-inscribed with texts and installed with lights. The texts are designed as trigger points, each box a reflective progression of the other, designed as a series of transformed gazes.
